What is your number one challenge with regards to internet marketing and how can I help you?

Hi there,

Last night I participated in an awesome mentoring call with Dan Kuschell and it really got me thinking (by the way, if you don’t know who Dan Kuschell is you really should visit this website.  He’s giving away some really awesome gifts including the opportunity to attend a live teleseminar of his.)

http://www.gettingstartedonlinefast.com/recommends/dankuschell/

At the end of the mentoring call, Dan gave us the following optional homework assignment: “If I knew I could not fail, what would I do starting now?”  WOW!  What a powerful question and great assignment!

This question and assignment made me realize just how much I enjoy helping people, especially when it involves helping someone go after BIG dreams and enjoy a much happier life.  If any of you are really serious about starting your own business, but you’re feeling stuck and have some challenging questions, I want to try and help you get unstuck.

I want to know what your biggest challenge is with regards to internet marketing and how can I help you?  I look forward to reading your questions and am going to do my best to try and respond to each of your questions.  By the way, depending on how many questions I get and the type of help that everyone is looking for, I am also considering doing some FREE teleseminars since I know how powerful and productive these can be.

I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity and I look forward to helping you reach new heights with regards to building your own online business.

To your success!

This one is actually hard for me to answer because there are just so many variables involved. But ideally, how can I get in front of paying customers? And how do I lock them in once they buy from me or through me?

Hi JJ!

Great questions!! These are questions that are essential to ANY business, not just internet marketing. Mastering the answers to these questions will ultimately determine how successful your business is going to be. The fact that you are even thinking of this question is great news.

The first thing you should be asking yourself is “Am I targeting a niche where people regularly spend money for information and/or products?”

If you’re not sure go visit places like Amazon.com, eBay, and ClickBank to see if there are lots of products being sold related to your niche. If not, there is a high probability that there may not be very much demand for your products. On the other hand, if you find that there are lots of products related to your niche, then odds are high that you’ve found a niche that is willing to spend money and maybe even lots of it. :)

The second tip I have for you is to initially focus on getting in front of people as opposed to ‘paying customers’. The reason I am saying this is because I know a lot of people who think ‘freebie seekers’ don’t spend money. That is simply NOT true. If you create a compelling enough offer, many ‘freebie seekers’ will spend money (you just have to create a good enough offer).

As for your second question, (how do I lock them in once they buy from me or through me?) the best answer I can give you is to make sure you create a positive experience for them. First of all, make sure the product you are selling or promoting is in fact a very high quality product and is being sold at an attractive price. Almost everybody who purchases info products online, has at some point or another felt ripped off. When that happens to you (and unfortunately if it hasn’t already, it probably will), odds are you are going to feel upset or disappointed and even if you are lucky enough to get a refund, you will probably never buy another product from that person or company again.

However, when you purchase something that offers you incredible value, the exact opposite happens. You become a raving fan of that person and you are very likely to keep buying and buying from that person. Not only that, you are also very likely to tell your friends about it as well.

Basically, I think it comes down to building a relationship with your customers and making sure that you take very good care of them. If you focus on the following things, I think you are going to do very well.

First of all, give your subscribers something of real value for FREE. A few years ago, you could offer someone a free newsletter and they would be willing to give you their email address. Now people are much more picky about who they give their email address to and are probably looking for something that they might actually consider paying for instead.

Secondly, only sell or promote products that are considered high quality and high value. If your customers are always getting products that they consider to be of high value, they are going to keep buying your products in the future.

Thirdly, always look for ways to make your customers and subscribers feel lucky or special. Some great ways you can do this are to offer them a special discount, give them some unannounced bonuses, and create bonus packages for people who purchase products through your affiliate link.

Again, great questions JJ and I hope you have found some of these tips useful! Please let me know whether or not they have helped.

To your success!

Jit

I’m so new to this that I don’t know what I don’t know yet! Where do I start? How do I find a High Quality/High Value product and create a desirable offer? And as a Realtor, can I apply the IM principles to generate interest where I don’t have a specific product to sell online? (other than homes in my local market)

I kinda set Jit up on this question to see how he would deliver. Guys, these are not just useful tips that have I high perceived value, they work when you implement them into your business and marketing efforts.

Recently, Jit asked me to add a little more thunder as to how to get more buyers. Well, I would like to also add, how to recognize the subscribers on your mailing list(s). Initially, I retrieved this idea from Russell Brunson’s “Affiliate Evolution.”

Offer a FREE CD audio or DVD and just charge your customers a shipping fee. This will accomplish two things:

One, you’ll be able to recognize and separate your customers from your A customers so to speak.

And two, even though you may have sent your paying customers a FREE product, the buck does not stop there…

You see? The underlying notion for this strategy is that a tangible product has allowed you to capture the paying customer’s information for future follow-ups by direct mail.

Now, let me ask any of you that are reading this comment this -

What is the definite objective of any tangible product?
To get someone to use the product right?

Congratulations! You have just integrated a FREE tangible product and helped your prospect engage in your content.

Hi JJ!

Thanks for stopping by again and sharing that great tip with everyone! There’s one other thing I would like to mention that is related to your point.

Another related strategy that I have seen other successful internet marketers use is the $1 trial. Even though the $1 purchase is a trivial amount, it confirms that person is willing to spend money and become a customer of yours. And someone who is willing to spend even a $1 is much more likely to purchase your $27 or $47 product than someone who has not.

By the way, this is the main reason you see so many upsells and downsells these days. One of the best times to get your next sale from a customer is immediately after they have just made a purchase and already have their credit card out.

Hope that helps.

Hi Scott,

Great questions and thanks for stopping by!

First of all, it is very common for someone who is new to internet marketing to feel confused and not know where to begin. There is a lot of information out there and it’s hard to know what you should be doing or focusing on.

If you are just getting started, I recommend going to http://www.GettingStartedOnlineFast.com (one of my other websites). When you opt-in to my newsletter, you will receive a great FREE report written by Ewen Chia that should provide you with some valuable help and information. If you read it, you will definitely learn a lot.

As far as finding a high quality/high value product is concerned you’ve got a few different options. You can either search for one that has already been created and either promote it as an affiliate or purchase the resell rights for it (if available) and sell the product yourself. Another option is to use your own expertise to create a high quality/high value product. This will obviously take more time than the first option, but if you do create one yourself, you’ve got a unique product to offer. The third option is to pay someone to create the product for you. There are several websites out there where you can post jobs such as http://www.elance.com.

Lastly, I am guessing that there are lots of successful realtors online, so I definitely think there is an opportunity to apply IM principles to help your current career. Again, I would try to think of ways that you can provide something of value for free in exchange for a name and email address.

I visited your website and I can’t seem to find a spot where I can email you and ask you for information. I am guessing that there must be one, but the fact that I have to look hard for it is not a good sign since the average consumer will probably give up before they find it…

Hope that helps and again great questions Scott!

Jit
