June 25th, 2008 — Mentoring and Coaching, Resell Rights
Liz Tomey announced today that she is completely changing her business model, but don’t worry, she’s not going anywhere. She’s decided to totally focus on coaching (and is currently selling off her products and will even be deleting her list).
Here’s the link to her blog post with all the details:
http://imtruth.com/im-truth-newsletter/whats-happening/
This is definitely a gutsy move and something that many people simply will not understand (especially the part about deleting her huge list). Personally, I really admire her for walking the walk and having the guts to completely change her very successful business model.
Since Liz really cares about helping others become successful online, I believe that this will be a VERY successful move for her. First of all, coaching is something that almost everyone could benefit from (don’t forget, even Tiger Woods has a coach) and it is something that her customers really want. Secondly, I believe that Liz has the skill set and attitude to be a VERY successful coach.
Her results online speak for itself and she also has a reputation for being one of the most likable internet marketers around. To me, that is a VERY powerful combination and I am confident that both she and her students are going to be very pleased with the results.
To your success Liz!

I booked my plane ticket today to attend Ross Goldberg’s Masters Internet Marketing Seminar and boy am I EXCITED!! First of all, the lineup of speakers is truly AMAZING! I’m not going to bother trying to list everyone here (you should check out the link below for the full details), but some of the people I am REALLY looking forward to hearing speak include the host himself, Ross Goldberg, Willie Crawford, Erik Stafford, Ken McArthur, Frank Sousa, Simon Leung, Kevin Nations, Anik Singal, Joel Comm, Bob “The Teacher”, and Gina Gaudio Graves.
==> Ross Goldberg’s Masters Internet Marketing Seminar
You would think that a seminar with that kind of lineup of speakers would cost at least $997. It’s not even close. And if you act fast and are one of the first 100 people to purchase a ticket, you’ll get a $200 discount on the already low price.

In fact, Ross is so confident that every one is going to have an absolute blast that he has offered the following bullet-proof guarantee:
Come to the Masters Seminar and enjoy 3 days with the Masters and brilliant attendees. If you don’t feel that it was worth 5 times your investment, we will happily refund your entire purchase price, no questions asked.

This is the going to be the first live IM event that I have ever attended and I am really looking forward to finally meeting some of my friends and mentors face to face for the first time. If any of you are thinking about doing something to really take your business to the next level, I strongly recommend you consider attending this event as well. It has the potential to be one of the best investments you could ever make.

Writing articles is a great way to establish yourself as an expert
in a particular niche. It’s also a great way to get more traffic to
your site while also creating backlinks to your site. But many
people have trouble writing articles. Well, here’s article writing
made easy.
Obviously the first thing you need to do is decide on a topic to
write about. Often the topic can make or break an article. Not only
do you want the topic to be interesting but you also want the topic
to be broad enough to provide good information but specific enough
so that you don’t try to tackle too much information in one article.
Once you have a topic in mind, the next thing you need to do in
order to write the article is to decide what you want to say. A
good rule of thumb is to always have three things you want to say
or teach. This is based on the three prong thesis, which you might
remember from your school days. Once you have your topic and the
three things you want to say, then you’re ready to begin writing
your article.
Article writing made easy requires you to have an introduction
paragraph, a paragraph for each thing you want to say (three
total), and a conclusion paragraph. So your article will usually
be 5 paragraphs in total.
In the introduction you will begin with a broad statement about the
topic of the article. If possible you want to have a hook –
something that will bring the reader in and cause him/her to keep
reading. Then you want to follow-up on the first sentence. Next you
tell the reader what they’re going to read about. You can include
the three things you will tell them in the last sentence of the
introduction.
The body of your article will include a paragraph for each thing
you’re telling them. It’s just that easy to write the main part of
the article. Just follow the three pieces of information and write
about each of them in 3-6 sentences.
The conclusion will just sum-up the entire article. Remind the
reader about what they’ve just read. And then you’ll be finished
writing your article.
Now you see how article writing can be made easy. The hardest part is deciding on a suitable topic and then choosing three quality pieces of information you want to include. Once you do that – and as long as you do it well – then the article will pretty much write itself.

In response to my previous blog post, one of my readers (JJ) asked me these two great questions.
“How can I get in front of paying customers? And how do I lock them in once they buy from me or through me?”
Here’s my reply which I think many of you will also find helpful:
Hi JJ!
Great questions!! These are questions that are essential to ANY business, not just internet marketing. Mastering the answers to these questions will ultimately determine how successful your business is going to be. The fact that you are even thinking of this question is great news.
The first thing you should be asking yourself is “Am I targeting a niche where people regularly spend money for information and/or products?”
If you’re not sure go visit places like Amazon.com, eBay, and ClickBank to see if there are lots of products being sold related to your niche. If not, there is a high probability that there may not be very much demand for your products. On the other hand, if you find that there are lots of products related to your niche, then odds are high that you’ve found a niche that is willing to spend money and maybe even lots of it.
The second tip I have for you is to initially focus on getting in front of people as opposed to ‘paying customers’. The reason I am saying this is because I know a lot of people who think ‘freebie seekers’ don’t spend money. That is simply NOT true. If you create a compelling enough offer, many ‘freebie seekers’ will spend money (you just have to create a good enough offer).
As for your second question, (how do I lock them in once they buy from me or through me?) the best answer I can give you is to make sure you create a positive experience for them. First of all, make sure the product you are selling or promoting is in fact a very high quality product and is being sold at an attractive price. Almost everybody who purchases info products online, has at some point or another felt ripped off. When that happens to you (and unfortunately if it hasn’t already, it probably will), odds are you are going to feel upset or disappointed and even if you are lucky enough to get a refund, you will probably never buy another product from that person or company again.
However, when you purchase something that offers you incredible value, the exact opposite happens. You become a raving fan of that person and you are very likely to keep buying and buying from that person. Not only that, you are also very likely to tell your friends about it as well.
Basically, I think it comes down to building a relationship with your customers and making sure that you take very good care of them. If you focus on the following things, I think you are going to do very well.
First of all, give your subscribers something of real value for FREE. A few years ago, you could offer someone a free newsletter and they would be willing to give you their email address. Now people are much more picky about who they give their email address to and are probably looking for something that they might actually consider paying for instead.
Secondly, only sell or promote products that are considered high quality and high value. If your customers are always getting products that they consider to be of high value, they are going to keep buying your products in the future.
Thirdly, always look for ways to make your customers and subscribers feel lucky or special. Some great ways you can do this are to offer them a special discount, give them some unannounced bonuses, and create bonus packages for people who purchase products through your affiliate link.
Again, great questions JJ and I hope you have found some of these tips useful! Please let me know whether or not they have helped.
To your success!
Jit
